Motorcycle Road Test
The Components of the Motorcycle Skills Test are:

- Motorcycle
Inspection.
- The motorcycle you bring to the test must be
roadworthy. Refer to the Michigan Motorcycle Operator Manual for
requirements.
- Check your motorcycle before test day, so there is
time to make repairs, replace bulbs or arrange for another motorcycle.
- The engine size must be 51cc or larger to qualify.

· Adults (18 and over)
- Your
valid Motorcycle Temporary Instruction Permit
- Your
valid Michigan Driver License
Location
- The
test is conducted at 317 Balch Street in Kalamazoo. Balch Street is
located south of Crosstown Parkway, north of
Howard Street between Park Street and Burdick Street. The test site is
next door to Laing's TV and across the street from Remax
Realtor.
- The
test lot is a parking lot. The test is conducted entirely at the test site
in the parking lot. Allow 30 minutes for the test. Use of an interpreter
is permitted, but must be pre-arranged. Individuals who accompany
applicants to the test site should be made aware that there is no shelter
or waiting area at the test location.
Weather
- You
will be contacted if your test must be rescheduled due to unsuitable
weather. If the test lot pavement is not dry, we cannot test.
Note
- The
Michigan Department of State prohibits practicing at the test site. We
cannot test any applicant whom we believe has practiced at the test site.
Applicants are welcomed and encouraged to observe a motorcycle skills test
prior to taking their test. The course dimensions and layout are included
on page 60 of the Michigan Motorcycle Operator Manual so applicants
may practice the maneuvers at home.
