Automobile Road Test
The Components of the Road
Skills Test are:
- Document
Check - see below.
- Vehicle
Inspection - see pages 10-11 of the Road Skills Test Study Guide.
- The vehicle you bring to the test must be roadworthy.
- Check your vehicle before test day, so there is time
to make repairs, replace bulbs or arrange for another vehicle.
- Complete Stop Driver Training offers vehicle rentals
for $30.00 a test.

- On-Road

Fee
Requirements
- Please bring the originals
· Documents for the Vehicle you are testing in
- Valid
proof of insurance
- Valid
registration
· Adults (18 and over)
- Your
valid Temporary Instruction Permit (at least 30 days old, unless you have
been given a practice period waiver)
- OR
- Your
valid International Driver License, a photo ID, and your $0.01 receipt
from the Secretary of State Office.
· Teens (under 18)
- Your
Level One license (at least 180 days old)
- Your
Segment 2 Certificate of Completion
- Test
applicants under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied to the test by their
parent/legal guardian.
Location
- The
test is conducted at 317 Balch Street in Kalamazoo. Balch Street is
located south of Crosstown Parkway, north of
Howard Street between Park Street and Burdick Street. The test site is
next door to Laing's TV and across the street from Remax
Realtor.
- The
test lot is a parking lot. Individuals who accompany applicants to the
test site should be made aware that there is no shelter or waiting area at
the test location.
Note
- The
Michigan Department of State prohibits practicing at the test site. We
cannot test any applicant whom we believe has practiced at the test site.
